In 1999 when the EDC knives was born out of The Academy of Fighting Arts in San Francisco. The Academy of Fighting Arts worked a defensive knife training as part of their martial arts regimen. They got serious when they got started learning a Filipino stick fighting Grandmaster Rick Alemany. After that, they met H. Arthur Gitlin and began blade training regularly at the Gitlin Defensive Academy in Alameda, California.
Since the knives is essential to a daily tool, they focus has been locating the highest quality handmade and production knives available and matching the needs of their customers.
